Obiettivi formativi
Il laboratorio concorre alla realizzazione degli obiettivi formativi del Corso di Laurea magistrale in Archeologia e Storia antica, fornendo alle studentesse e agli studenti gli strumenti di metodo specifici per la comprensione dell'epigrafia greca e latina, con particolare attenzione agli aspetti materiali del manufatto epigrafico (come: realizzazione, forme del supporto, tecniche di incisione, impaginati, apparati iconografici, rapporto con lo spazio urbano, aspetti archeologici) e agli aspetti operativi dello studio delle iscrizioni (come: autopsia, misurazioni, riproduzione con fotografia, calco e apografo, realizzazione di una scheda epigrafica).
This workshop is consistent with the educational aims envisaged by the MA course in Archaeology and Ancient History, and provides specific skills for the study of Greek and Latin Epigraphy: it focuses especially on the technical aspects of the inscriptions (such as: production, materials, engraving techniques, layouts, iconographic elements, relationship with the urban scape, archaeological context), as well as on the methodological aspects of the epigraphic studies (such as: autopsy, measurements, photo reproduction, paper squeeze, apograph, and composition of an epigraphic record).

Al termine del laboratorio, le studentesse e gli studenti dimostreranno di aver conseguito:
CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE: la metodologia per lo studio delle iscrizioni greche e latine, le coordinate spazio-temporali dei documenti epigrafici, la schedatura epigrafica.
APPLICARE CONOSCENZA E COMPRENSIONE: utilizzare i dati acquisiti per redigere una scheda epigrafica; leggere interpretare e commentare dal punto di vista storico le iscrizioni greche e latine.
AUTONOMIA DI GIUDIZIO: rispondere a domande che mettano in movimento processi cognitivi induttivi o deduttivi; leggere, comprendere e interpretare fonti epigrafiche a partire dalle conoscenze e competenze acquisite.
ABILITÀ COMUNICATIVE: utilizzare un linguaggio e una terminologia scientifica; organizzare gli argomenti con efficacia e chiarezza espositiva; stabilire collegamenti, approfondimenti e sintesi.
CAPACITÀ DI APPRENDIMENTO: dimostrare di aver acquisito una capacità di apprendimento continuo tramite la consultazione di una bibliografia e di una sitografia aggiornate.At the end of this workshop, students are expected to have acquired the following skills:
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: the methods of studying Greek and Latin Epigraphy, the space-time coordinates of ancient inscriptions, the analysis of epigraphic sources.
APPLYING KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING: students will be able to use the acquired skills to analyse epigraphic documents, and to read, understand, and contextualize Greek and Latin inscriptions.
AUTONOMY OF JUDGMENT: the students will learn to answer questions with inductive and deductive reasoning; thanks to the acquired skills, they will be able to read, understand and comment on epigraphic sources.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS: the students will be able to properly use a specific terminology, and to organize issues clearly and effectively; they will be able to establish connections, examine topics in dept and synthesize problems.
LEARNING SKILLS: students will be able to improve their learning skills with an up-to-date bibliography and sitography.- Oggetto:
Modalità di insegnamento
Ciclo di lezioni della durata di 24 ore complessive, svolte con l'ausilio di presentazioni e altri materiali che verranno messi a disposizione delle studentesse e degli studenti tramite la piattaforma Moodle.
L'insegnamento sarà svolto in forma laboratoriale, con momenti di esercitazione pratica attraverso la schedatura di iscrizioni, la realizzazione di calchi epigrafici, l'autopsia su documenti e visite ai musei cittadini.Tutte le lezioni si svolgeranno in presenza.
Trattandosi di attività didattica laboratoriale, non è prevista una modalità alternativa per studentesse e studenti che non possano frequentare in presenza.24 hours lessons, carried out with the aid of slides and other materials that will be made available to students via the Moodle platform.
The teaching will be carried out in a workshop format, with moments of practical exercise such as reading and supplying inscriptions, making of epigraphic paper squeezes, autopsy of inscriptions and visits to city museums.All lessons will take place in presence.
Since this is a workshop-based teaching activity, there is no alternative mode for students who cannot attend in person.- Oggetto:

Esame orale. Potrà essere richiesta un'esercitazione scritta di tipo pratico, per esempio: una scheda epigrafica, il commento storico di un'iscrizione.
Oral examination. The examination may include a written exercise, for example: a document study, a historical commentary of an inscription.

Programma
Il laboratorio affronta una serie di tematiche relative allo studio delle fonti epigrafiche. Si analizzeranno i vari aspetti di un'iscrizione: supporti, contesti di ritrovamento, testi e datazioni. È prevista la lettura e la discussione di iscrizioni, finalizzate alla ricostruzione del loro contesto storico.
This workshop covers several aspects of the study of the epigraphic sources. It provides a full analysis of inscriptions: materials, archaeological evidence, texts and dates. It will include the reading and discussion of some inscriptions, in order to reconstruct their historical context.

Le lezioni di epigrafia greca (12 ore) si svolgeranno nel primo semestre, quelle di epigrafia latina (12 ore) nel secondo semestre.
Le lezioni si svolgeranno nello stesso periodo gli insegnamenti di Storia ed epigrafia greca (per la parte greca del laboratorio) e di Storia romana ed epigrafia latina (per la parte latina del laboratorio).AVVISO:
