Obiettivi formativi
Il corso intende trasmettere una conoscenza approfondita dell'esperienza giuridica di Roma dalla sua fondazione (753 a.C.) alla morte di Giustiniano, imperatore romano d'Oriente (565 d.C.). Particolare attenzione sarà dedicata ai sistemi costituzionali e ai processi di formazione delle norme giuridiche, in collegamento con gli avvenimenti storici dell'età repubblicana e imperiale. La seconda parte del corso è dedicata all'amministrazione periferica e all'organizzazione municipale, che ha originato un modo di amministrare diffuso e duraturo nella storia europea successiva.
The course aims to convey an in-depth knowledge of the legal experience of Rome from its foundation (753 BC) to the death of Justinian, Eastern Roman emperor (565 AD). Particular attention will be devoted to the constitutional systems and the processes of formation of the juridical norms, in connection with the historical events of the republican and imperial age. The second part of the course is dedicated to peripheral administration and municipal organization, which originated a widespread and lasting way of administration in later European history.

Alla fine del corso lo studente dovrebbe acquisire conoscenza e capacità di comprensione in ordine all'esperienza giuridica romana, da assumere anche come chiave di lettura di fenomeni giuridici attuali, e dovrebbe sviluppare, in relazione alla materia studiata, autonomia di giudizio e abilità comunicative. Per quanto riguarda la seconda parte del corso, si attende l'acquisizione di una capacità di lettura 'giuridica' delle strutture cittadine di origine romana. Tale capacità potrebbe essere utile per quegli studenti che intendano partecipare al programma di scambio Erasmus nelle Università spagnole prossime a siti di elevato interesse archeologico romano.
At the end of the course the student should acquire knowledge and comprehension skills in relation to the Roman juridical experience, to be taken also as a key to reading current juridical phenomena; he/she will then have to develop, in relation to the subject studied, autonomy of judgment and communication skills. As regards the second part of the course, the acquisition of a 'legal' reading capacity of the city structures of Roman origin is expected. This ability could be useful for those students who intend to participate in the Erasmus exchange program in Spanish universities close to sites of high Roman archaeological interest.

Modalità di insegnamento
Si terranno lezioni in presenza degli studenti e saranno caricati materiali didattici sulla piattaforma moodle. Fatto salvo quanto indicato nel campo note, in merito a un eventuale protrarsi della situazione emergenziale, alle studentesse e agli studenti che non potranno frequentare le lezioni in presenza sarà assicurata la possibilità di fruire delle lezioni in diretta streaming con deposito, nella piattaforma Moodle, del solo materiale didattico e non dei files audio/video delle lezioni.
Lessons will be held in the presence of students and teaching materials will be uploaded to the moodle platform. Without prejudice to what is indicated in the notes field, with regard to a possible continuation of the emergency situation, students who will not be able to attend classes in person will be guaranteed the possibility of enjoying the lessons in live streaming with deposit, in the Moodle platform, of the only didactic material and not the audio / video files of the lessons.

Nell'ambito dello studio del diritto municipale romano, il docente intende organizzare una visita guidata alla tabula Vardacatensis ospitata nel Museo di Antichità di Torino.As part of the study of Roman municipal law, the teacher intends to organize a guided tour of the Vardacatensis tabula housed in the Museum of Antiquity in Turin.
