Gli studenti acquisiranno le competenze per leggere un testo letterario sumerico in scrittura cuneiforme, tradurlo, comprenderne il significato e contestualizzarlo.
Students are expected to read a Sumerian literary text in cuneiform script, translate it, understand its meaning, and place it in the context of Mesopotamian literature.

Modalità di insegnamento
L'insegnamento avverrà esclusivamente in forma seminariale con la partecipazione attiva degli studenti (da soli o in gruppo) i quali dovranno preparare (fin dalla prima lezione) il testo oggetto dell'insegnamento.
Fatto salvo quanto indicato nel campo note, in merito a un eventuale protrarsi della situazione emergenziale, alle studentesse e agli studenti che non potranno frequentare le lezioni in presenza sarà assicurata la possibilità di fruire di materiale didattico attraverso la piattaforma Moodle e di sostituire la frequenza delle lezioni in presenza con lo studio dei volumi sotto indicati, rispetto ai quali il docente assicura supporto allo studio e alla preparazione dell'esame attraverso incontri online (le date saranno comunicate negli avvisi dell'insegnamento)
Teaching will exclusively be in seminar format with the active participation of the students who will have to prepare (from the first class) the text(s).
Except for what is stated in the notes section, with regard to the possible ongoingemergency situation, the students who are not able to attend face-to-face lectures may access teaching material on the Moodle platform and, instead of attending face-to-face lectures, study additional literature (see below); the professor will offer his/her support to study and prepare for the exam with online meetings (dates will be provided in the news section).

Le conoscenze degli studenti verranno verificate attraverso un esame scritto. L'esame consisterà in:
- Lettura e traduzione di un passo delle Istruzioni di Šuruppak (in cuneiforme)
- Lettura e traduzione di un testo non letto in classe (in cuneiforme)
- Brevi domande sui testi assegnati
Student knowledge will be tested through a written exam. The students will be tested on the following:
- Reading and translation of a passage from the Instructions of Šuruppak (in cuneiform)
- Reading and translation of not previously read text (in cuneiform)
- Short questions about the assigned texts

"Le Istruzioni di Šuruppak" – L'insegnamento 2021-22 prevede la lettura integrale dal testo cuneiforme della composizione sapienziale sumerica "Le Istruzioni di Šuruppak."
"The Instructions of Šuruppak" – In the Spring 22 term, students will read from the cuneiform script the Sumerian wisdom composition "The Instructions of Šuruppak."

Le modalità di svolgimento dell'attività didattica potranno subire variazioni in base alle limitazioni imposte dalla crisi sanitaria. Qualora non fosse possibile riprendere pienamente l'attività didattica in presenza, è assicurato a tutte le studentesse e a tutti gli studenti lo streaming delle lezioni e/o il deposito delle stesse nella piattaforma Moodle, insieme al materiale didattico.
Dato che il testo sumerico verrà letto direttamente da foto o autografie, si consiglia di venire a lezione con un computer portatile.
The delivery method of teaching may be subject to changes pending restrictions imposed by the health crisis. If the teaching activities are not fully resumed face to face, students will be provided with live-streamed lectures and/or their recordingswill be available on the Moodle platform, along with teaching material.
Since the Sumerian text will be read from photos or copies, students are adviced to bring their laptop at classes.
